Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ) - November

November Theme: All things deer, that's all.
Deer season is one of the coolest times of the year for hunters. Many people use deer hunting to put meat in the freezer, so they have it all year long. Getting the deer to a place where you can clean it, get it ready for the butcher or freezer is all part of the journey.

Scripture: Colossians 4:2, Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.

Overview: When you're in the woods, hiking up a mountain or fishing there is a lot of time to be alone or quiet. Those are great times to talk with Jesus. There is nothing fancy about talking to Him, just talk to Him like you would an adult, a mentor, or a parent.

WHOA!  Did you know that the average kid today spends only 40 minutes a week outside? Meanwhile, they typically spend 70 hours a week looking at an electronic screen. Seems out of balance doesn’t it?

Well, at The Journey we have a great experience to help bring that into better balance. Kids Outdoor Zone, also known as KOZ, enables men to mentor boys from ages 8-18 in outdoor activities as well as helping them walk with the Lord every month.

No specialized knowledge of outdoor activities is required. Just be there!
